“The Johnson Memorial Thrift Shop inÂÂ DawsonÂÂ MNÂÂ celebrated 15 years of community service this August.ÂÂ What started as a vision for Karen Schuelke, Norma Powers, Laurel Silvernale and a few other Auxilians, has turned into a success beyond any of its founders’ expectations!ÂÂ Since its opening in August 1999, it has raised over $480,000!ÂÂ ÂÂ This all was made possible through the leadership of several Managers including current Manager Arlys Amundson and the commitment and endless energy of the shop’s 30+ Volunteers.ÂÂ Other than minor expenses, all of the almost one half million dollars has been pledged back to Johnson Memorial Health Services and the community to support its healthcare needs.”
